UNDERSTANDING ELECTRIC CURRENT AND VOLTS
Current is the flow of electricity generally measured in amps or milliamps. Voltage only means Pressure is the only thing that voltage is. It does not move or flow.
Think of it like water in a pipe delivered from your city utility. Lets say you have 60 psi that is your water pressure or your voltage.
You have a
1 inch pipe that it comes out of and that pipe size is your resistance or ohms, a bigger pipe means less resistance. So the only thing that voltage does is push that water in your pipe. If you have a higher voltage then yes it will push the water faster giving you more gallons per minute.
Voltage is potential, when charging a battery there needs to be a difference in potential. The charger has to have a higher potential or voltage in order for current to flow to the battery and charge it. Once the battery reaches the same potential as the charger current flow stops.
