Japan has developed a massive turbine that creates electricity by harnessing deep ocean currents.
Since the devastating nuclear disaster at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant in 2011, officials have been hunting for alternative sources of green energy, and they will not stop until they find them.
According to Bloomberg, IHI Corp, a Japanese heavy machinery manufacturer, has successfully tested a prototype of a massive, airplane-sized turbine that can generate electricity from powerful deep sea ocean currents, laying the groundwork for a promising new source of renewable energy that is not reliant on sunny days or strong winds.
