SIMPLICITY IS THE KEY TO RELIABILITY
simplicity is the key to reliability. Probably the best example of this is the French 2CV… (similar to the Volkswagen Beetle 🪲).
the philosophy with the Citroen 2CV was “if you don’t have it in there, it won’t break”
the 2CV only had in it what could not be left out.
it didn’t even have gaskets but had a crank running on a roller bearing…
and the engine ran almost forever as long as the oil was changed frequently
