HOW CAN A MODERN GAS-POWERED AUTOMOBILE BE MADE TO RUN WITHOUT IT'S COMPUTER
It is not too difficult to remove the electronics of many simple, non VVT car engines and run them on old fashioned carburettors and distributors with points. The main difficulty would be at the inlet system as it might not be easy to modify the inlet manifold, in some cases you might have to keep the injection system by replacing that with a mechanical fuel injector system. Whether the car would then pass emission tests is another story. Most cars are designed to still be drivable with the ABS, Traction Controls, Ect. disabled, so removing the computers that control those systems should not be an issue.
